Meeting readers where they are. Building strong foundations that grow confidence for what comes next.

Montessori-informed literacy instruction that supports young readers through hands-on learning and evidence-based practices.

What We Offer

Who We Serve

Joyful, hands-on literacy instruction for children developing foundational reading skills, with developmental support beginning as early as age 3.

How Learning Happens

Literacy instruction is engaging, relational, and confidence-building—never remedial or disconnected from children’s curiosity and strengths.

Montessori at the Core

Rooted in Montessori principles, instruction emphasizes concrete materials, movement, and purposeful practice that honor how children naturally learn.

Session Formats

We offer 1:1 and small-group sessions (up to 4 children) because literacy grows through interaction, dialogue, and shared meaning-making.

Dr. Jazz

Founder

I’m Jasmine Williams, PhD, founder of homeplace literacy solutions and an educator with more than two decades of experience supporting literacy development across schools and communities in the United States and internationally.

My work has included supporting young readers and multilingual learners—often referred to as English language learners—in building language, literacy skills, and confidence.

I hold a doctorate in Social Justice for Education, a master’s degree in TESOL and Literacy & Culture, and completed graduate study in education entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania. I am also credentialed by the American Montessori Society (AMS), and the instruction at homeplace literacy solutions is aligned with Montessori theory and developmentally appropriate literacy practices.

My own literacy journey began early—sitting at the kitchen table working through Hooked on Phonics and learning firsthand that reading takes time, practice, and belief. That experience shaped how I think about literacy today: children do not need to be rushed or “fixed”; they need to be met where they are and supported with care.

homeplace

A circular infographic divided into four puzzle pieces with icons representing hearing, reading, time, and documents, surrounded by the words 'homeplace', 'literacy solutions', and a lightbulb at the center.

The name homeplace literacy solutions is intentionally written in lowercase. It honors the work of bell hooks, who described homeplace as a space of care, belonging, and affirmation—where people are nurtured and allowed to be fully human. This orientation toward humility, relationship, and care guides how children are taught, supported, and seen as learners at homeplace literacy solutions.

homeplace reflects the belief that literacy instruction should feel human, responsive, and rooted in respect for each child’s development.
